Sri Lankan bomber finds his mark
Washington DC News.Net Monday 6th October, 2008
At least 25 people, including a television journalist and two key members of the main opposition United National Party, have been killed in a suspected suicide bombing in Sri Lanka.
80 more were injured when a suspected Tamil Tiger suicide bomber blew himself up in Sri Lanka's north-central town of Anuradhapura on Monday morning.
One of those killed was retired major general, Janaka Perera, the United National Party’s manager for Anuradhapura.
His wife was also killed in the bombing.
Perera served as the chief of staff of the Sri Lanka Army between 2000 and 2001.
After retiring from the army, he served as high commissioner to Australia and ambassador to Indonesia.
A provincial journalist of a prominent private television channel in Colombo and other UNP provincial council members were also among those killed.
The wounded, some of them in serious condition, were admitted to the nearby Anuradhapura base hospital.

Sri Lankan bomber finds his mark
This shows the brutality of the blood thirsty Tamil Tiger Terrorists. They are nearing their end thanks to the brave security forces of Sri Lanka and now they are like “mad dogs” killing retired generals, doctors, journalists and innocent civilians. These gangs are not rebles only terrorists and for nearly three decades they have proved it by killing a former Indian Prime Minister, Rajeev Gandhi, a Sri Lankan President, Ranasinghe Premedasa, a Sri Lankan Foreign Minister, Laxman Kadiragamer, a Sri Lankan opposition Leader, A. Amirthalingam with thousnad men, women and childern. Therfore they should not be identified as freedom fightors or rebles.
It is clear now that within a couple of months Sri Lankan Security Forces under the able leadership of General Sarath Fonseka will eliminate this terrorist group from our beloved motherland. I salute our brave soliders.
