MALLIG, Isabela, Dec. 10 (PIA) - Farmers here will soon enjoy their warehouse with dryer after the Department of Agriculture (DA) - 2 Regional Project Coordination Office (RPCO), the Provincial Local Government Unit of Isabela and Local Government Unit (LGU) - Mallig led its groundbreaking on Dec. 2.
Amounting to P12.5 million with 612 sq. m area and 500 sq. m postharvest facility, it will be erected to ease the burden of storing and drying farmers' equipment and produce.
DA - 2 Regional Executive Director Narciso A. Edillo said the project is another allocation for Mallig which already had completed farm-to-market road and dairy enterprise funded under the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP).
"PRDP is making its wave in Cagayan Valley with implementation of infrastructure and enterprise subprojects not only in Mallig but to various municipalities regionwide," Edillo said.
For his part, Mallig Mayor Jose Calderon expressed his thanks to World Bank, DA-PRDP and PLGU Isabela for choosing once again the town for the project.
"As one of the first recipients of PRDP, we are thankful of the benefits brought by the completed Olango-Siempre Viva-Trinidad-Manano Road not only to our farmers in transporting their products but its impact to the whole populace of Mallig," Calderon said.
